J.B. PATEL. The Hangman. BookBaby. 213 pages; e-book, $0.99,

In this collection of frontier tales, the title story, “The Hangman”, is about a law officer with a long career of meting out brutal justice. He decides to retire to the solitude of a ranch and finds the ranch occupied by a widow and her children and the range over-run with rustlers. Much like the author’s own background, most of the stories have to do with the orphaned or the disenfranchised.
