Biography of frontiersman, army scout, solider, and Indian agent.  Kelly was a member of two expeditions to Alaska in 1898 and again in 1899. Returning to the U.S., he was appointed captain in the 40th U.S. Volunteers and served in the Philippines. A friend of Theodore Roosevelt, he was a member of TR’s “tennis cabinet.”
